Australia’s Wildlife Corridor

By USA News Group (Originally in English)

Australia will create a wildlife corridor spanning 2,800 km along almost the entire east coast of Australia to help protect animals and plants from climate change. The corridor will link national parks, state forests and government land. It will allow wildlife to move into new habitats and help preserve scores of endangered species.

The corridor had been under discussion since the 1990s. In light of the warnings of scientists that the country was experiencing accelerated global warming, it was approved by the state and federal authorities this year. The first-stage funding will be made by the local, state and federal government. Farmers will get financial incentives to carry out the work and find less harmful ways to farm.
