A Tiny Hero with
a Mighty Heart

In early July, when 1-year-old boy Booker West was playing in his grandparents’ northern Colorado backyard, a rattlesnake approached. Just as it was ready to strike, tiny little dog Zoey, a five-pound (2.3 kg) Chihuahua, immediately jumped in. Providing a shield with her body, Zoey was bitten instead.

It appeared at first that Zoey might not survive, but she is now completely restored to good health. She has also won the love and appreciation of all those around her.
