Master's Wonders

An Auspicious Passing through
God's Grace

By sister-initiate Zhao, China (Originally in Chinese)

My mother, who recently passed away, was eighty-two years old and practiced the Convenient Method for over seven years, following a strict daily meditation regime and a vegetarian diet. When she fell ill, she was even keener to meditate every day and always listened to Master's Buddhist Chanting tapes.

Some time ago, my mother grew physically weaker, and realizing that her days on Earth were limited, she instructed that the whole family should eat vegetarian meals for three days following her demise. During her last moments, we played the Buddhist Chanting tapes while my two sisters and I meditated at her bedside. We told her not to fear and reminded her to recite Master's name and follow Master when She came for her. My mother nodded consciously and asked us not to cry or make a fuss and instead to silently pray for her. Finally, she passed on peacefully, in a tranquil mood.

Then my mother's body was kept frozen before it was to be cremated three days later. But amazingly, before the cremation, her hands felt soft and we could still raise her head, and she looked kind and peaceful, as though she were sleeping! During this time we played Master's Buddhist Chanting tape continuously. And after the cremation, we were expecting the funeral director to complete the procedures, but he was nowhere to be found. So we became anxious as we were unable to retrieve my mother's ashes without his help, but all we could do was to wait patiently. After a long time, the funeral director finally returned but the workers refused to handle the case since it was already past their normal quitting time. Having no other option, the funeral director led us inside the cremation area so we could retrieve the ashes ourselves. Then, thanks to God's blessing, we discovered several spherical sariras (cremated relics of a saint) in my mother's ashes that were light translucent blue in color and had floral patterns on their surfaces. If the funeral director had not disappeared, we would not have had the opportunity to see the ashes, which would have been given to us in an urn. We are thus grateful for God's incredible arrangement!
