Born in Osaka, Japan, Mr. Takagi Yoshiyuki was seriously injured in a motorcycle accident at the age of 33. While in hospital he had a near-death experience and saw himself lying on the hospital bed, beholding planet Earth, then entered the world of light and enjoyed a very blissful state. He witnessed the past, present and future of the Earth, the Sun and the galaxy, the evolution of life forms and souls, the birth and destruction of human civilizations, and the eternally constant Self Nature of the soul and the eternal Universe.

After miraculously regaining consciousness, Mr. Takagi fell into absolute despair, for he had experienced the end of the world in his vision. However, he thought that if what he saw was true, he must share this message with the world. One day, it suddenly dawned on him that he was given this life to accomplish his mission. The way he viewed things then changed instantly and drastically. Before that, he had enjoyed a successful life, having graduated from an esteemed university and holding a key and high-salary position in Japan's largest company. His goal had been to have a successful career, happy family, lots of wealth and property. Now he realized that what the younger generation needs is much more than that. They need planet Earth. He thought that parents should set a good example for children in terms of life style and tell them what is most important—that is, to live in peace and harmony with the environment.

The initial diagnosis was that Mr. Takagi would not recover sufficiently to return to society. Incredibly, after he identified his goal in life, his body started to recover and he was discharged from hospital one year after the accident. As a scientist, Mr. Takagi decided to devote his life to realizing a peaceful and happy world. He began by setting an environmental agenda.

Over the next decade, he explored environmental and other issues. He found a common cause to all these problems: the general notion that “it is okay as long as it is good for me.” Humankind will not be able to resolve any crisis unless we change this concept. Therefore, Mr. Takagi urged everyone to stop caring only about him or herself, for immediate profit and money, which lead to competition, hostility and fighting for possessions; and to stop destroying nature just for the sake of convenience and comfort. Conversely, he implored that we care about life and peace, and the future; treat all people as members of Earth's Village; and pray for the wellbeing of everyone.

In his lectures and writings, Mr. Takagi made explicit yet easily understood elaborations on a number of modern issues, such as environmental degradation, war and poverty. He put forward simple and feasible proposals, hoping to awaken people's consciousness and encourage them to realize a peaceful and harmonious society together.

On May 17, 2007, Mr. Takagi celebrated his 60th birthday. In his blog, he expressed surprise at reaching this age, for he had seen in his vision following the accident at age 33, that his life would run its course by 2001. Although he did not understand the reason, he firmly believed that the future of Earth would undergo a great change. He hoped that humankind could work together to realize this dream: Rebuilding a beautiful Earth, and bringing peace and happiness to all. He also appealed to everyone to cherish life and identify his/her goal in life.

In Her lecture “Catch Up with the Pace of Universal Development” delivered in a European retreat in Hungary on February 23 ~24, 2005 (published in News No. 163), Master said, “We're also helping the world to transition well into the new millennium. You've heard that in the year 2000 the world was supposed to have been ‘kaput.' That was true, but I didn't want to tell you. Of course, also because I'm here it won't happen. In London, I told you it wouldn't happen and it did not happen (please refer to DVD#662, Face Life with Courage, June 9, 1999). But it almost happened! So, disasters on a Biblical scale are everywhere. You know that yourself. I've even told you in advance that you need to do more diligent meditation because the cleansing period is going on.” Mr. Takagi's question is perhaps best answered by this quotation!
