[Hsihu] On June 17, fellow initiates in Formosa joyfully celebrated International Father’s Day* at Hsihu Center. They thanked all fathers for their hard work, hoping them to set examples for children to cherish the Earth’s limited resources, as well as to love and protect all sentient beings.

The entrance of Hsihu Center was decorated with huge Father’s Day thank-you cards and a bulletin board on the theme “The Dogs in My Life.” The board carried short stories and pictures from fellow initiates sharing their loving relationship with pets and their inspiration from reading the book “The Dogs in My Life.” The display attracted the attention of many guests and fellow initiates. At noon, on the lawn beside the publication circulation area, fellow initiates from Taichung performed a short play about loving and protecting animals. Under the mango trees, fellow initiates used recycled paper to demonstrate to children how to fold animal figures, hoping to help the young generation, the future of our Earth, to develop the consciousness of environmental protection and loving animals.

A father has profound, though often not overtly visible, love for his children, causing many people to forget the need to communicate with their fathers. The celebration also served as a reminder to all children in the world to express their love and respect for their fathers.

* In 1924, the U.S. government declared the 3rd Sunday of June as Father’s Day in honor of Mr. William Smart, a widower who sacrificed himself selflessly to raise six children. Several other countries began to observe the occasion later.

Media Announcements

Announcements of Supreme Master Television were published in the Liberty Times for four consecutive weeks in June. The first announcement on June 4 immediately attracted media attention and coverage. In its evening news program, ETTV News broadcasted exclusive footage of Supreme Master Ching Hai demonstrating vegetarian cooking. Health World magazine, an established leading health magazine for 31 years, carried a similar message in its May and June issues. Its June announcement was supplemented by an introductory article entitled “Creating a Beautiful Life through Positive Thinking”.

In addition,, announcements were published in print media in about 40 countries in Oceania, Asia, and Europe. Among them, the Island Business Magazine of Fiji is available in 19 countries and on flights of four international airlines, while the Al Hayat News of Saudi Arabia is distributed in 13 countries. The management of Bahrains’s Akhbar Al Khaleej News – delighted to be introduced to such an exceptional TV channel – placed the Supreme Master Television announcement in two prominent positions and followed up with an extra day of free advertising. The Marshall Island Journal, a weekly paper printed in black and white, miraculously printed the Supreme Master Television message in color. The announcements generated widespread response, as many readers called the media seeking the contact information of Supreme Master Television.

Ball Pens and Banners

We designed beautiful and useful ball pens carrying Supreme Master Television message and have distributed them at schools and other activities. They are very well-received by everyone. We also made multifunctional and portable banners for promoting Supreme Master Television.

Light Boxes

The Supreme Master Television message is beamed through light boxes at the Taipei Main Station, which serves hundreds of thousands of commuters each day.

Public Buses

Thirty buses, decorated with the Supreme Master Television message, moved through the streets of Taipei and its suburbs in May, and were joined by an additional ten buses in June.

Signboards and Internet TV

Supreme Master Television signboards continue to be placed on the outer walls of commercial and residential premises. Fellow initiates who run restaurants and food stores also provide the online broadcasts at their shops. An increasing number of people now know about Master; some have embraced the vegetarian lifestyle and the Convenient Method.

Internet Promotion

With Master’s infinite love and blessing, a Web site (http://www.dsopen.com)is providing free and long-term sponsorship of an animated banner for Supreme Master Television at a prominent spot on its home page. The Web site is visited by more than 50,000 people each day.

Schools

Each month, the Taipei Center provides a vegetarian lunch accompanied by the broadcast of selected Supreme Master Television programs for Gueishan and Fushan elementary schools in Taipei County. The projects have won much acclaim from teachers and students alike. The school principals have invited us to hold soul-elevating seminars for their teachers, many of whom now observe a vegetarian diet out of compassion and health considerations, etc. and some practice the Convenient Method of meditation. Other elementary schools have invited our Taipei Center to introduce vegetarianism as a concept of environmental protection.

Cable Television

Towards the end of May, our Penghu Center approached the Penghu Cable Television about the promotion for Supreme Master Television on four of its channels. With God’s blessing, the cable company offered slots on another four channels to make a total of eight. It also increased the airtime and offered considerable discounts in rates.
