[Douala] The news group from the Douala Center in Cameroon was invited by a local radio station named “Radio des Laureats” to give an interview on the Alternative Living project.

The group was welcomed by two young reporters from the radio station. Interested in learning about the objective of Supreme Master Ching Hai’s ongoing Alternative Living project, several questions were asked like: “Why must people follow this diet? Don’t we need animal based proteins to achieve a balanced diet?”

A brother gave the following answer: “Physically, the teeth and the digestive system of humans have been designed for a vegetarian diet.” He also added that we eat meat by habit. With respect to proteins, vegetable proteins are light and easily digested and available for the body. To expand on these answers, another brother added that animals are also God’s creatures, so we must treat them with love because they have the same right to life as we do. In depriving them of their lives, we lack the compassion that is taught by God. All these simple answers persuaded the reporters and the listeners of this live interview.

The reporters were satisfied by The Supreme Master Ching Hai International Association’s way of living, and thus the news team was invited to stay after the end of the interview to further clarify the work and teachings of Supreme Master Ching Hai. In addition, due to the interest generated by the talk, a future interview with our Association members and people from the Church and imams (Muslim spiritual leaders) was promised.
