Relief Funds Bring Hope to
Those in Need

By Kuala Lumpur News Group, Malaysia (Originally in English)

The Johor state of Malaysia was severely affected by floods from December 2006 until January 2007. (Please refer to the first relief work reported in News #178.) The flooding effects caused many individuals and families to encounter financial problems due to loss of property and an inability to resume work because workplaces such as plantation farms, shops, etc., had been destroyed during the flood.

On February 3, 2007, fellow initiates from Johor Bahru and Kuala Lumpur set out to distribute funds to those individuals and households that were identified as being in need of financial assistance from the earlier survey work. Each household or individual received RM 200 (about US$54 each, totaling US$2,811 for 52 households) to help ease their conditions.

With Master’s blessings, the fund distribution was successfully completed on February 5. Everyone was very grateful for Master’s kind assistance.
