Respect Life and Love Animals

By Tainan News Group (Originally in Chinese)

[Tainan] Local initiates held a special event to cultivate respect for life and love for animals among students of Yanshui Primary School on March 13, Golden Year 4 (2007). They had been invited to hold the event by the school's Administrator Tu Qiong-ju on recommendation by the county branch of the Taiwan Fund for Children and Families (TFCC). The Tainan initiates had earlier held a successful Lunar New Year program sponsored by the TFCC on January 28.

The morning event kicked off with the distribution of Alternative Living document folders and pencil pads, information on health and medicine, Master's books entitled "The Realization of Health", "The Real Heroes" DVDs, vegetarian cooking DVDs and information about Supreme Master Television. The materials were highly appreciated by both teachers and students.

Over a thousand people participated in the activity held at the school's main hall as an important counseling project for 2007. We began by playing The Real Heroes DVD, followed by a quiz with prizes, during which the children answered questions earnestly. After the event, Administrator Tu presented a Letter of Appreciation on behalf of the school to The Supreme Master Ching Hai International Association. She affirmed that the students would benefit tremendously in body, mind and spirit from the presentation.

Although the activity only lasted slightly over an hour, we believe that every child has taken to heart this concept of respecting life and loving animals.
