The Quan Yin Family

By sister-initiate Mistie Gotch, Ohio, USA (Originally in English)

The moment I delivered my son, I could see that he wasn't taking his first breath. When the midwife saw that his little pink face was turning blue, she quickly announced: "He's not breathing!" Then she whisked him away to another part of the room where emergency medical equipment and nurses were waiting to help.

The nurses began using suction to clear his lungs and an oxygen mask to keep him alive. "Call the Newborn ICU doctor," the head nurse instructed. I spoke to him from across the room: "Your Mommy and Daddy are here, and you're going to be okay!" My terrified husband held his tiny hand as minutes passed and the nurses began to look panicked.

"The Doctor is en route to the hospital," said one of the nurses, meaning he wasn't even in the building. As the midwife prepared me for the possibility that my son might have to be taken to the Newborn Intensive Care Unit, she said to me: "The mother's voice is the best thing to help a baby who's struggling to take his first breath. Keep talking to him, and don't stop!"

Instead, I turned to my sister and asked her to increase the volume on Master's video tape that we had brought to the hospital to watch. She looked at me in disbelief. "You can't watch this now. Your baby isn't breathing."

"Please: Turn it up loud, quickly!" I said firmly.

"Good idea," said my husband. "Do it now!" My sister suddenly understood and turned up the volume on the video loud enough for everyone, including baby, to hear.

Within seconds I heard a most welcome sound, the gasping and crying of my newborn son. A very surprised nurse reported: "He's breathing. Keep the oxygen on him until the doctor arrives." A moment later the doctor walked quickly through the door and examined my child.

"There's nothing wrong with this baby," he said. "Give him to his mother.? And with that, my newborn son was placed in my arms for the very first time.

Years ago in Florida I heard Master say that to be born into an initiated family is a great privilege as there are many souls waiting for the opportunity to meet Master and become spiritually liberated, and that these souls have definitely come here to practice the Quan Yin Method. My husband and I have often pondered the suffering that infants must feel descending from Heaven to be born in this world. We know it wasn't my voice but the voice our true Mother of the Universe that gave my son the strength and desire to begin this life.
