Sowing Seeds of Compassion at “Earth Garden”

By Tokyo News Group (Originally in Japanese)

On October 28 and 29, Golden Year 3 (2006), the Autumn Earth Garden event was held at Yoyogi Park in Tokyo to promote a lifestyle that keeps the Earth and its natural environment free of pollution. It introduces the idea of harmonious coexistence between humankind and nature into everyday life. Ever conscious of the concept of vegetarianism, that animals are to be loved and protected and the environment to be conserved, local fellow initiates distributed Alternative Living leaflets, document folders and fans in front of their exhibition booth. An assortment of items was for sale, including Alternative Living T-shirts, hats and shopping bags, as well as vegetarian snacks and foods. Also distributed at the venue were flyers introducing Supreme Master Television.

On the opening day of the event, a lady and her dog passed by our booth. The dog walked straight into the booth without any hesitation and sat quietly in front of Master’s photo. The lady tried several times to get the dog to move but it refused to budge, showing the expression “I belong here.”

Yoyogi Park, which also hosted Earth Day in April and the Tokyo International Vegetarian Culture Fair in September, plans to host these two events as well as the Autumn Earth Garden again next year. We will cherish these precious opportunities to work with other exhibitors to increase the vegetarian population, and to share the Alternative Living concept with more people in society.
