Preparing food for the homeless |
[Virginia] The Virginia Center has been keenly sharing Master’s teachings through various activities such as holding a monthly video seminar to teach the Convenient Method of practice, working together with other groups to feed the homeless, and distributing Alternative Living flyers. Most recently, fellow initiates attended the Animal Rights 2006 National Conference at the Hilton Mark Center Hotel, Washington D.C. from August 10 to 14, Golden Year 3 (2006).
Many organizations across the USA came to the conference showing their support for animal rights. The four-day program featured nearly 100 presenters from more than 60 organizations representing all factions of the movement.
Fellow initiates were able to reserve a table in the Exhibit Room in the Plaza Ballroom of the Hilton Mark Center Hotel. The room was full of vegans and vegetarians showing alternative ways to eating, dressing and living. On our table, we displayed Master’s books and tapes, Longevity lamps, Alternative Living flyers, and showed Master’s video lectures. We also served delicious vegetarian food, which was so incredibly popular with conference attendees. We had to arrange for one group to remain at the venue minding the table and distributing flyers, while another group stayed up all night and day cooking for the guests at the conference. Many guests came by the table asking for recipes. Even before lunchtime, our food already ran out and we had to send someone to pick up more. Although the food was gone, the line of people was still very long since many refused to leave for fear that they might lose their turn when our next batch of food arrived! Master’s blessing had brought scores of people to our table. While setting up our table on the first day, a sister saw Master’s transcendental light body appear, blessing the whole venue.
The four-day conference ended successfully. Fellow initiates
felt very happy to be in a league of highly enlightened individuals and
organizations. With Master’s blessing, the world has become more
and more elevated, and together, these groups of high-minded people are
leading the world into a new era, where animal cruelty will become a thing
of the past.
