Love in Action
By Taipei News Group (Originally in Chinese) Ms. Mei-yin Huang, previously the director-general of the Volunteer Association of Taipei County and currently the director of the House of Concern and Care for the Homeless in Taipei County, has 10 years of experience in helping the homeless to establish a new life and become independent. Ms. Huang got to know about Master through the TV program “A Journey through Aesthetic Realms.” She admires Master very much for Her humanitarian work and spiritual teachings. In May 2006, Ms. Huang learned the Convenient Method of meditation in a seminar entitled “Alternative Living” hosted by Taipei Center at the House of Concern and Care. She had very good inner spiritual experiences during her meditation, (Please refer to News #168.) With the spiritual blessing from practicing the Convenient Method of meditation and her many years of experience and influence in helping the homeless, Ms. Huang wished to assist us in sharing the message of Truth to minority groups such as the homeless, etc. and governmental officials.
On June 27 and 28, Golden Year 3 (2006), the initiates from Taipei Center were invited by Ms. Huang to visit the House of Concern and Care again and had the chance to meet the officials and social workers from the Social Bureau in Taipei County. Ms. Huang admires the social workers as the loving pillars in society. She explained to them how the House of Concern and Care had the fortune to be supported by non-profit organizations such as the Supreme Master Ching Hai International Association, as the funding from the government was limited. She said that the Association helped the weak and the poor silently and was an essential part of the social charitable work. Ms. Huang also offered them the opportunity to know the Quan Yin Method and appreciate Master’s teachings. She intends to introduce the Supreme Master Ching Hai and Her International Association to more people working in social welfare and the homeless assisting area so that they can utilize spiritual power to benefit more people. In these 2 days, about 30 staff members in the Social Bureau were introduced to Master’s teachings. We also contributed News magazines, sample booklets as well as fans printed with the Alternative Living message. The inhabitants in the shelter come and go all the time. New people are constantly moving in. Therefore, director Huang also invited the new members and those who had learned Convenient Method previously to join this event as well. Through story telling, the initiates explained what energy and vibration are as well as the benefits derived from spiritual practice. The homeless friends were so inspired by Master’s teachings and the words of the initiates that many of them who did not learn the Convenient Method last time registered to learn this time. And those who learned previously appeared to be more devoted during the event. Almost everyone felt good in meditation and expressed their wish to continue to practice from then on. So a team leader was selected to organize everyone to do group meditation regularly. With the assistance of director Huang, the House of Concern and Care currently provides vegetarian meals 10 days a month and even the main chef himself practices the Convenient Method on a regular basis. Seeing the seeds previously sown have sprouted, we all felt very pleased.
Through director Huang’s efforts, we had this chance
to contact some government officials and share with them Master’s
teachings. Though our communication was brief, they started to be
interested in the message and wanted to know more about our group.
They kept asking for our contact information. Master mentioned before,
“Most political systems only emphasize law enforcement, material
needs or the mathematics of things, and these are mostly about the
physical aspects. So when our small group or others such as me or
you or any of us individually make an effort, we just feel like a
minority on this planet. But if the governments of all the nations
knew the benefits of spiritual power, we would all be much better.
That’s normally what governing means; so this should also be
emphasized.” We hope that all the government officers can share
the same understanding and know that the best way to root out all
the problems in the world is through spiritual practice.
