God’s Love Has Blessed Macedonia
By sister initiate Ekaterina Atanasova,
Sofia, Bulgaria (Originally in Bulgarian)
From May 31 to June 2, Golden Year 3 (2006), a group of
four initiates from Bulgaria and a brother initiate from Croatia went
to Macedonia, a small country on the Balkan Peninsula, to distribute
Alternative Living flyers. With the help and blessing of our beloved
Master our group organized a tour of the East half of Macedonia and
handed out 5,000 flyers (4,000 in the Macedonian language and 1,000
in Albanian – for the Albanian community living in Macedonia)
in the six biggest cities, including the capital, Scopje.
The Macedonians are nice and friendly people, who showed a
sincere interest in the beautiful multi-colored flyers. The people not
only accepted them but they crowded around us, wanting to take one by
themselves. Some of them returned and took more for their relatives and
friends. Some drivers honked their car horns to draw our attention to
give them the flyers. In Macedonia it is not a common practice to circulate
flyers on the streets, in mail-boxes and in public places. That is why
all the people were very curious about who we are, where we come from,
and what kind of information we were spreading. They did not throw the
leaflets away after reading them, but put them in their pockets and bags
and took them home or to their work place and showed them to us when we
met them again on the streets. The Macedonians were very open to the appeal
to begin a vegetarian diet. They greeted us when we met them again and
treated us respectfully and kindly.
We succeeded in circulating all the flyers we had, in different
places and in different ways - in chemists, in shops for dietetic foods,
in libraries, in cultural-information centers, in a polyclinic, in mail-boxes
and chiefly in the streets, squares, parks and gardens.
We hope that Master’s blessing will also spread to Western
Macedonia in the near future and we are grateful for the opportunity to
be useful and to work for the elevation of the planet and for the welfare
of the people, animals and environment.
