Surprising Vegetarian Gifts to Children
By Seoul News Group (Originally

[Seoul] May 27, Golden Year 3 (2006), the operetta Hansel and Gretel was being performed at Naru Arts Center; everyone, including disabled children, was invited. The Seoul sisters and brothers joined this event and provided free vegetarian food for the guests.
Initiates prepared 800 lunches which included vegetarian sandwiches, chocolate, cookies, beverages and most importantly the Alternative Living flyers. After the operetta was over, the children and their parents came out and were surprised to see the initiates wearing lovely animal costumes. Of course the children loved them very much and formed a huge crowd. Some played and took pictures together with the animal friends. The second surprise was the free gifts. Some felt a bit shy and hesitated at first, but later received them with pleasure and appreciation, knowing that the presents were especially prepared for them and the disabled. Their parents showed great interest in vegetarianism. They asked where to buy “soy meat”, how to find vegetarian restaurants and how to cook vegetarian meals. Also, a face painting event was arranged
by another group, so it was such a happy time for the kids. The day
was filled with innocent laughter and happiness!
