Master's Wonders

I have two jobs. In the evening, I work at a night market, and in the daytime I am a tour guide with a travel agency. On May 24, 2002, I went to work at the market as usual, but my boss was in a very bad mood. She had lost NT$40,000 and searched every corner of the shop. Being unable to find the money, she became suspicious, went into a rage and fiercely scolded all the employees. I spent a great deal of time trying to explain to her that I was not involved in the case, and also helped her search for the money the whole evening. All our efforts were in vain, however, and my boss remained furious about the lost money.

It was already past midnight when I got home, and just then I remembered that I had been assigned to lead a tour group on a trip abroad the following day. However, the incident that night had totally spoiled my mood. I was so upset that I did not want to lead the trip. So I called the travel agency manager's wife, asking her to find someone else to replace me. She had originally planned to join the group with me, but since I was not going, she also cancelled her trip.

Then, on the afternoon of May 25, just as I was leaving for work at the night market, the wife of the travel agency manager called me and said, "The China Airlines flight carrying our travel group has crashed. The airplane disintegrated over the sea near Penghu. There are probably no survivors. Fortunately I didn't go because of you. I really have to thank you for that!" I consoled her for a while, then hung up the phone and went to work at the night market. When I walked into the shop, my boss smiled and apologized. She had found her NT$40,000 in the garbage bin!

I believe that all of this was incredibly arranged by Master. Otherwise, I would have been among the victims in the airplane disaster, and would not have been able to remain in this world to continue my spiritual practice. Being grateful to Master for saving my life, I will especially cherish my remaining years and practice more diligently to repay Master for Her grace.
