Supreme
Master Ching Hai,
With much joy we received a donation in
the amount of TWO THOUSAND ONE HUNDRED NINETY FIVE US
DOLLARS ($2,195.00) from The Supreme Master Ching Hai
International Association, the Los Angeles Center, California,
U. S. A. This money will be of great help to the underprivileged
of this community, most especially the little children
and orphans whom we shelter and assist in Culion.
As barangay (rural community) officials,
we serve not only as links between the Governent and the
community people, but also as de facto guardians of the
colony and municipality to whom our constituents go for
their needs, great or small. During these times, more
and more community activities are being entrusted to the
local barangays. Please allow me to mention that there
is only one barangay in Culion, which has a population
of eighteen thousand. At present, we have several plans
in the works, and one of these that we promised to attend
to in 2002 is to provide a
livelihood project for our poor and needy constituents.
Please be informed that most of the amount you sent will
be used for this purpose.
