Sweet Lemon Bistro - Delicious Food and Spiritual Inspiration

[Oregon] Inspired by Master’s concern for public access to easy, quick and healthy vegetarian food, fellow initiates in Portland, Oregon, recently opened a fast-food style vegetarian restaurant called Sweet Lemon Vegetarian Bistro. The restaurant is located in a new upscale shopping area that previously had no vegetarian eateries.

During the construction of the restaurant, many people saw our sign and stopped by to express their appreciation for the arrival of vegetarian food choices in the community. To enhance the positive experience for the customer, colors in the restaurant were carefully chosen that contributed a bright and cheerful hue. Even the naming of menu choices was considered carefully, with entree titles such as Happy Yogi Rice, Saintly Soup, Wisdom Pockets and Noble Noodles.

In the first month the restaurant was open, it was often packed with customers who said they were attracted not only by the food but also by Master’s beautiful artwork displayed inside. Three Catholic nuns were moved to tears when they saw the beauty of Master’s celestial creations. Additional inspiration is provided by Master’s fans, Longevity Lamps, and various publications. Many customers said: “We came back more than a few times because of the tasty food and the friendly, comfortable atmosphere of Sweet Lemon.” Customers can also enjoy full-time positive programming through the continuous broadcast of Supreme Master Television on a flat screen TV.

The unique setting and flavorful, healthy food offered by our bistro has been very well received. We hope that everyone who comes into contact with Sweet Lemon will enjoy and be abundantly blessed by Master’s love.

[Boston, MA] This year marks the 50th anniversary of Newburyport’s “Yankee Homecoming”, the 2nd oldest homecoming festival in the United States, which normally attracts numerous visitors nationwide and from overseas every year. On, August 5, Golden Year 4 (2007), fellow initiates from Massachusetts, Rhode Island, New Hampshire and Connecticut pored into Newburyport with the Alternative Living and Supreme Master TV flyers to join the famous annual parade. Before the parade started, we went to downtown to distribute the flyers. “Boston Kids”, a group of young initiates, are again the greatest force in this activity. People receive flyers with delight, sincerity and politeness. Several young people stood in a circle, held the flyers, read and discussed them. When we passed them the second time they greeted us with “I like vegan”, “tofu is good” and “thank you”.

When it was time for the parade, our team started with the Quan Yin Family flag honoring all beings, including animals, our co-habitants, on this beautiful globe, followed by the Alternative Living banner. Alternative Living and Supreme Master Television posters with Master’s picture were held by the “Boston Kids”. The team is consisted of initiates and their family members from 3 to 70 years old in AL T-shirts, and wrapped up by more posters. We were warmly received by the crowd with applause, waving and cheers. The passionate spectators shouted out “good message” “Alternative Living”, “good group”, “Ni Hao!” (“Hallo” in Chinese), etc. Many people eagerly read the flyers, and they nodded, greeted, waved and smiled more after reading. A lady even dashed up, grabbed the flyer, and said: “I want one, but nobody gave me yet.”

It is one of the best scenarios we have ever experienced in our distribution activities. Overall, we distributed 6,000 flyers, and many more people were blessed by Master’s picture. Through this activity, we felt we were in a big family gathering, not only spreading Master’s information, but also strengthening our inner connection with each other and with our beloved Master.

[Lowell, MA] Every year on the 3rd Saturday of August thousands of people from the United States, Canada, France, and Australia come to Greater Lowell area to celebrate an age-old tradition from Cambodia, Laos and Thailand. On August 18, Golden Year 4 (2007), our Association members from Boston Center attended the 11th Annual Southeast Asian Water Festival to introduce Master’s teachings and celebrate the first anniversary of Supreme Master TV.

Local initiates contributed their talents and unconditionally supported the work. Visitors to our booths accepted flyers, enjoyed the vegetarian food, and asked for more information about Supreme Master Television, Master Ching Hai, and the vegetarian diet. We distributed about 3,000 flyers. Our TV reporter interviewed the director of the Festival, Mr. Mehmed Ali and two other major organizers. When asked, “What do you think is the best way for peace?” They responded, “It is through unity of different cultures, accepting each other, respecting differences and helping each other.”

We celebrated the first Anniversary of our Supreme Master TV with lots of balloons, colorful costumes, and a huge cake decorated with plenty of fresh fruit. It was a perfect day and the festival organizer happily invited us to participate again next year.

[Ohio] Enthusiastic to spread the good news about Supreme Master Television, many initiates have thought of placing ads on billboards or in other highly visible locations. However, this can be prohibitively expensive.

A sister-initiate in Tennessee, USA came up with a brilliant idea, which is using her own business advertisement space to promote Supreme Master Television instead! With a few hundred dollars, she made a banner style sign through a local printing shop. It is lightweight and can last for a very long time. Since her business is located in a prominent place in a tourist area, once the sign was up, many people noticed it right away and came to ask for further information. Thus the sister has the opportunity to give them the Alternative Living flyer, introduce Master’s teachings, and explain the Supreme Master Television channel.

The success of this idea spread quickly to other initiates with their own retail businesses. The Lu family in Florida was very happy to put up the Supreme Master Television ad above their Laundromat’s window. Since the ad is big and very colorful, it changes the look of the store and catches a lot of attention. Many other Quan Yin business owners from other states wanted to follow suit. Up to now, ads have been put up in the following locations: Fort Myers, Spring Hill, Tampa, Clearwater, Saint Petersburg and Orlando, Florida; McDonough, Georgia; Cincinnati and Lima, Ohio; Louisville, Kentucky; Indiana and New York.

The owners feel proud to contribute to the positive spirit where they live. If more and more people listen to positive news and share the loving care and kindness presented by Supreme Master Television, the world will definitely continue to be elevated! 

[Orlando] As part of the worldwide promotion of Supreme Master Television, local initiates recently placed ads in Florida’s major newspapers including The Orlando Sentinel, The Tampa Tribune, The Jacksonville Times Union, The Tallahassee Democrat, and The Miami Herald (including its Spanish language edition and its international edition which reaches several Latin American countries).

Florida Center has also been promoting Supreme Master Television on its public access cable TV show. Many of our brothers and sisters have taken the good news about Supreme Master Television to the streets by attaching magnetic banners to their automobiles. These colorful, eye-catching advertisements can be easily placed on the side and rear panels of cars, trucks, and minivans. So now our brothers and sisters are able to alert many people to Supreme Master Television on the way to group meditation, while shopping, or even at work.

[Washington, DC] On July 21, Golden Year 4 (2007), members of our association from the Virginia Center took part in the Washington, DC Asian Festival. Almost twelve-thousand people from all over the Washington DC-Metro area came to experience the beauty and diversity of Asia. Representatives from Thailand, China, Korea, Japan, Formosa, the Philippines, Cambodia, and Au Lac were present, sharing their rich cultures.

We wanted to show festival attendees that in traditional Asian culture, animals are sacred and all life is respected. Many people were surprised that our food was made of vegetable protein! They wanted to know where to purchase our food in the future, so we made sure to hand out fliers with local vegetarian information. Attendees were able to experience vegetarian food at its best – with a healthy and delicious Asian flair!

We were pleasantly surprised by the many dogs that were attracted to our booth. One dog kept sitting under the table where all of Master’s books were and his caretaker had a tough time convincing him to leave! He was a welcomed guest and a good reminder that our brothers and sisters come in all forms!

The festival was a huge success! Attendees were treated to healthy and enlightening vegetarian cuisine as well as information about Supreme Master Television! The festival went so well that the Virginia Center plans to participate in other area festivals in the near future!

[Los Angeles] On July 21 and 22, Golden Year 4 (2007), initiates from the Los Angeles Center participated in the Animal Rights 2007 National Conference at the Westin Hotel Los Angeles. Fellow practitioners took this opportunity to share Master’s teachings and distribute various materials such as the Supreme Master TV flyers, Alternative Living flyers, Alternative Living tote bags and healthy vegetarian food.

Attracted by our big signs of Supreme Master TV and Alternative Living, many visitors commented that they were glad that someone was bringing this important message to the public. One of the managers said: “Your group truly brought in a very high dimension of compassion and love. Thank you for coming and hope to see you back next year!” Others expressed interest in Master’s teachings and meditation practice, with one lady and gentleman signing up for the Convenient Method. Many guests also enjoyed our tasty and healthy vegetarian food. One person said: “This is the best veggie food I’ve ever had!” Another person commented, “The food is so good and very clean; no wonder you guys look healthy and beautiful!”

We noticed that after discovering Master’s good news, people’s faces became more radiant, happy and content. Brothers and sisters of Los Angeles Center deeply thank Master for Her blessings and guidance in making this event a success.
